Corpus Christi Bay - Swanter Park Reef Ball Project 2005

Located in Nueces County, Texas, the bay is 2-3 meters deep and normally has a featureless bottom topography. Live oyster reefs that existed in the past are now gone due to commercial dredging and salinity changes from construction of reservoir systems on rivers that discharged into the estuarine system. Commercial shrimping has further prevented hard bottom habitat. This project seeks to proform initial site assessment and development o fthe permits for construction and deployment of Reef Balls.
